Eliminate Flies
Are you battling with flies? Frustrated that they continue to come back no matter what you do? Flies are hearty pests. While they don’t live long, they reproduce frequently so it feels like they never go away.
This is fly season and we want to help you better understand what might be happening. You can take steps to prevent flies on your end, but ultimately we recommend professional support. Not only because that is our business, but because it is the best way to ensure they are exterminated properly.
Cleaning the home or business is something we just DO but don’t often think about. It’s time to change that if you have flies. Getting specific about HOW you clean will be essential to eliminating flies from your structure. Here is a checklist of things to do as your part to eliminate flies from your home.
Dispose of your trash daily
Use smaller bags if need be. And look at it this way, it will help you live longer by increasing your daily recommended number of steps!
Avoid putting Food Debris Down the Sink
If you are in the habit of scraping your plate into the sink, think twice before you do it. Flies reproduce in wet/damp gunk and that gunk builds up in your drains more when you put food and other debris down there. Use a napkin and scrap your plate into the garbage and purchase an inexpensive drain screen to catch small particles you may have missed.
Clean up dead flies
Dead fly clusters can breed new flies. Disgustingly flies will lay their eggs in dead remains of other flies so don’t give them the opportunity.
Make sure there are no leaks.
Does your sink faucet have a drip sometimes, is there a lot of condensation on your windows? Consider some minor home repairs to eliminate the moisture, you will help reduce the likeliness that flies will return. Flies love water!
Take a look at those places you never go.
Whether its behind the garbage can, down in cracks and crevices or under sinks, go to those forgotten places and do some spring cleaning to ensure there are no dead flies or insects or even dampness.
Get a lid for your garbage.
It sounds so simple but it will help prevent flies from getting to the rotting matter you’ve thrown away.
